BACKGROUND

Sara Herrlander (1988) is a Swedish documentary photographer, visual artist and filmmaker based in Stockholm and Berlin. She finished the art program at Viktor Rydberg (Stockholm) in 2007 and continued to study Film and Media production at Valand Academy of Art and Design. Herrlander combine’s oil pastels and charcoal with either acrylic or oil to retrieve intensity in the colors and create different structures on the canvas. Her work has been exhibited multiple times in Berlin and was shown in Paris in 2025 along side the work of Antoine de Tyssandier at the 229LAB exhibition “Frames of Mind”.
