I remember watching Todd Hayne’s queer saga Velvet Goldmine for the first time at the age of 14. I remember rewinding the VHS and watching it a second time. I remember rewinding and watching it a third time.
I remember seeing my people for the first time.
Moving to Berlin in my mid 20s has allowed me to exist in my community, to capture it’s undeniable force and beauty.
The quotes throughout the series is from my upcoming documentary Queer Bodies (2026) featuring Sebastian Abarbanell.
I REALLY BELIEVE QUEERNESS IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO QUEER PEOPLE IT’S A WAY OF SEEING LIFE, IT’S A WAY OF REJECTING BOUNDARIES, REJECTING NORMS – REJECTING CONFORMITY.
I think drag really just opened up
a new pathway for a certain part
of myself to exist.
And be celebrated.
Which is really beautiful.
What makes me excited about queerness is the ability to really experience your body the way that it’s – it’s just for you. This body is not for anyone else to understand or to put expectations on how it’s suppose to experience
…Life.
